KIBM held its Annual Symposium on Innovative Research on May 16, 2025

KIBM hosted its Annual Symposium on Innovative Research on Friday, May 16, 2025, featuring talks from this year’s Innovative Research Grant recipients, the second Postdoctoral Scholars Program cohort, a Kavli Discovery Fellows recipient, and keynote speaker Dmitriy Aronov from Columbia University.

Many exciting talks were presented from various departments across UC San Diego and Salk Institute for Biological Sciences. IRG and Kavli Discovery Fellows speakers included: Saurabh Yadav (Neurobiology, UCSD), Lara Labarata-Bajo (Salk Institute), Matthew Banghart (Neurobiology, UCSD), Benjamin Lang (Psychology, UCSD), Emma Spillman (Neurobiology, UCSD), Francesco Fazio (Psychiatry, UCSD), Diego Alvarez (Neurobiology, UCSD), and Claudia Tatiana Galindo Martinez (Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD).

Nick Spitzer and Katherine Stevens announced the second Charles F. Stevens Memorial Neuroscience Research Award.

This year’s keynote speaker was be Dmitriy Aronov (Columbia University). Postdoctoral Scholars Program speakers included: Yvonne Hu (Neurobiology, UCSD) and Seahyung Park (Salk Institute)
