KIBM is proud to share that Dr. Christian Cazares has been selected as one of the 2025 recipients of the Henry Grass Rising Stars in Neuroscience Award, a prestigious honor recognizing early-career investigators who are making exceptional contributions to the field.
The award, presented by the Grass Foundation, highlights innovative scientists whose research shows extraordinary promise in advancing our understanding of the brain. Dr. Cazares joins Dr. Albarran as the distinguished 2025 awardees recognized for pushing the boundaries of neuroscience and fostering the next generation of discovery.
In addition to his research accomplishments, Dr. Cazares has played a central role in shaping the Colors of the Brain (CoB) program, a trainee-led mentorship initiative founded in 2016 and supported by KIBM. As one of CoB’s leaders, he has worked tirelessly to expand opportunities for undergraduates aspiring to pursue graduate training in neuroscience and related fields. The program pairs undergraduates with graduate student and postdoctoral mentors, providing invaluable guidance during the critical transition to Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. research pathways.
KIBM congratulates Dr. Cazares on this well-deserved honor and celebrates his dual impact as both a rising star in neuroscience research and a champion of mentorship and access through Colors of the Brain.
