KIBM Innovative Research Awards 2008-2009

UCSD’s Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind announces the granting of annual awards to 10 projects. Covering such topics as speculation on the evolution of consciousness, inquiries into word learning  and gamma band brain oscillation in human infants and brain mechanisms in multisensory perception learning, the awarded projects do indeed represent a wide swath of innovative research.  Altogether, more than 40 applications were received, with the winning teams comprising some 40 dedicated researchers, as shown below.
